Victoria Sammartino

Victoria Sammartino is a poet/educator/Bronx native, she has served as poet in residence at various schools, community centers and youth organizations and has taught creative writing workshops at Rosewood High School on Rikers Island for the past five years. Inspired by her teaching experiences, she began Voices UnBroken, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing under-heard members of the community with the tools and opportunity for creative self-expression. Victoria has read her poetry at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Eastern Correctional Facility, Barnes & Noble, New Folsom Correctional Facility, The NY Open Center, San Quentin Correctional Facility, Pace University, Bayview Correctional Facility, A Gathering of the Tribes, etc.
