Bronx Artists Now: Showcase and Conversation

13th Annual

Pepatián’s Bronx Artists Now: Showcase and Conversation, initiated in 2010 and produced by Jane Gabriels, Ph.D., is a network of South Bronx arts and community organizations who pool resources to create unique opportunities for other presenters and funders to enjoy the latest works by Afro-Caribbean-Latinx/a/o artists who make work in the Bronx.

In 2019 and 2020, this showcase was co-curated with Beatrice Capote and Maleek Washington.  The 2021 and 2022 showcases were presented online. In 2023, the showcase is co-curated with Kayla Hamilton (Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture) and Elena Martinez (Bronx Music Hall).

“Attending the all-day showcase felt like a feast day at a ceremonial event - meeting incredibly talented artists - many of them local celebrities; the intimate viewing of their works at iconic cultural institutions; the mingling and networking among newly formed friendships. And oh, let’s not forget the overexcitement that the bus added in between the showcases, reminiscing the overjoy of school day trips. A nurturing space for the artistic community, feeding souls with abundance.”   - Bianka Cypriano - Director, Salsa Stories
